COUNTY: League presents election schedule 

The Hopewell Valley League of Women Voters has provided the following primary election calendar for 2014:
   March 31 — Nomination petition filing deadline for primary election.
   April 9 — Deadline for filing change of party affiliation declaration form for the primary election. Registered voters wishing to change their political party affiliation must file this form with the Mercer County Commissioner of Registration. Registered voters not affiliated with a political party may declare their party affiliation at the polls on primary election day.
   May 13 — Deadline to register to vote in the primary election. Registration application forms are available from Municipal Clerk Eileen Gore in the municipal offices.
   You can also print a registration application at http://njelections.org/voting-information-voter-registration-entering the required data, you must mail it to the Superintendent of Elections, 640 S. Broad St., Box 8068, Trenton NJ, 08650, This form can also be used for name and address changes.
   The Superintendent cannot accept faxed copies or an electronic transmission of a voter registration form since an original signature is required.
   May 27 — Deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot by mail for primary election.
   May 30 — Deadline for application to receive primary election mail-in ballot by electronic means for qualified overseas civilian and military voters.
   June 2 by 3 p.m. — Deadline for in-person mail-in ballot application for primary election.
   June 3 — New Jersey’s primary election day. This date is also the deadline for submission of primary election mail-in ballots to the Mercer County Board of Election. And it is the nomination petition filing deadline for independent general election candidates.
   July 28 — On Dec. 27, 2103, Gov. Chris Christie signed legislation (S-2086/A3424) moving the deadline for filing nominating petitions for school board candidacy in the November General Election from the date of the June primary to the last Monday in July. For the November 2014 election, that date is Monday, July 28.
