ALLENTOWN — The borough chapter of the National Future Farmers of America will host its seventh annual gift auction April 5 at the Allentown Hope Firehouse, 82 Route 526, Allentown.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 6 p.m. The auction component of the event will start at 7 p.m.
The FFA provides many opportunities for agricultural science students to participate in activities such as leadership training, career development events, travel to exciting places and scholarships.
Proceeds from the auction will provide students with an opportunity to pursue careers in veterinary science, agricultural technology and mechanical systems, earth sciences, environmental science, horticulture, aquaculture and other fields of work.
This event also provides our organization opportunities to assist with travel to the national FFA convention in Louisville, Kentucky, the New Jersey FFA Convention, the career development events that occur at each of these events. These are remarkable opportunities for members to grow personally as well as professionally. Through fundraising events such as the auction, all students have the opportunity to participate in any of the chapter, state, and/or national activities, regardless of their financial situation.
Admittance for the auction is $15. All donors will receive one complimentary ticket for the tricky tray auction. The admittance ticket includes one sheet of tickets for the tricky tray auction and an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner.
