MANVILLE: Humor, music comes to stage with ‘Little Shop of Horrors’

   The Manville High School Drama Club will present Little Shop of Horrors, Thursday Friday and Saturday (March 27 to 29) at 7 p.m.
   The musical comedy is about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on humans. The music is in the style of early 1960’s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, and includes several well-known tunes, including the title song,”Somewhere That’s Green” and “Suddenly, Seymour.”
   ”Little Shop of Horrors” was originally a 1960 movie and became an 1982 off Broadway hit musical, a 1986 movie musical and was recently revived on Broadway in 2003.
   The Manville High cast includes Sebastian Wisniowiecki as Seymour, Eleni Kontos as Audrey and features Leah Alpaugh, Connor Faleski, Megan Nash, Karli Ramirez, Jamie Fischer, Courtney Carr, Gloria Yakobchuk, Amber Lathi, Kristina Rogaliski, Jeenen Edwards, and Billy Caswell.
   Stephen Nash supplies the voice for Audrey II and Brandon Roche is the puppeteer.
   Members of the chorus include Micheala Hvizdak, Cindy Marshalek, Kieanna Davis, Brittany Hoodja, Kate Bowden and Doug Moreno.
   The production is directed by Stephen Sallach and assistant director Robert Longstreet, with musical direction by Ken Zampella.
