What is wellness? Simply put, wellness is achieved when one learns to make healthy choices and orient towards a healthier life. One Yoga & Wellness Center, located in East Windsor, New Jersey, offers many wellness options that can be viewed and discussed at their upcoming open house event on Sunday April 6th.
While the practice of yoga is their core business, they have several different holistic health care and bodyworkers that share the space and offer a wide variety of tools to help folks work back into a state of health and wellness.
Acupuncturist Jim Slaymaker will be on hand to discuss the benefits of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture as well as to lead a Qi Gong class. Jim has a wealth of knowledge, stemming from a background in soft tissue work that led him into the Chinese health arena. Jim is available by appointment but you can stop by and discuss specific needs with him at the open house.
Shanda Scaife, Certified Massage Therapist, has recently joined the group at One Yoga & Wellness Center. A graduate of holistic massage school Health Choices, this ten-year massage therapist offers a truly relaxing experience as she is guided by her healing hands.
Reshma Patel brings her own brand of Physical Therapy to the studio by offering specialized physical therapy by appointment. Reshma will discuss how her style of physical therapy differs and how she incorporates things like yoga and meditation into her therapy and why.
For those looking for a different type of bodywork, Yuth Harris will be on hand to demonstrate what is her unique style of Thai Yoga Bodywork. Often known as the “lazy man’s yoga,” Thai Yoga is done fully closed as the client is manipulated into stretches and various compression techniques to open up the energy lines and improve overall circulation throughout the body. If you have not experienced Thai Yoga Bodywork, this is a great opportunity to check it out and talk to Yuth.
For those looking for a spiritual connection, medium and psychic Robin O’Hagan will be at the open house to discuss what is “Mediumship” and advise everyone of her upcoming workshops that help anyone tap into their intuition & knowing.
Founder and owner of One Yoga & Wellness Center, Tracey L. Ulshafer will also be on hand at the open house to provide a welcome greeting at 11:30 am, lead a Yoga Dance class at 2:45, and also discuss the practice of yoga to anyone that stops by throughout the day. Yoga is a healing practice that brings body, mind and spirit together to provide a complete wellness option. One Yoga & Wellness Center works with beginners, ongoing beginners, and intermediate students to establish a place of trust and comfort in which to work within your own level during any class. One is also committed to providing every student with excellent service and their staff of teachers has undergone extensive trainings and certifications in which to meet each student’s needs.
Program for the open house begins with a welcome at 11:30 am and a short Belly Dance performance led by our Belly Dance Teacher, Christiane Truelove. At 12 noon, Shanda will discuss how massage is beneficial to everyone, especially yoga students. Jim’s Qi Gong class comes in at 12:30 pm followed by Reshma’s discussion of her brand of physical therapy at 1. 1:30 pm Yuth demos and discusses Thai Yoga Bodywork, followed by Jim’s discussion of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at 2pm. Get ready to dance! 2:45 is Tracey’s Yoga Dance class. Then Robin finishes off the day with a discussion on Mediumship at 3:30 pm.
At 4pm there will be a raffle for free gifts by local vendors. While you do not need to be in attendance to win the gift, you do need to speak to each of the staff members listed to get your raffle in the bowl. Everyone who attends will leave with a grab bag full of coupons and information from our staff, teachers, and friends.
It is going to be a fun and information day at One Yoga & Wellness Center on Sunday April 6th. So, mark your calendars and head over. They are located in the back entrance of East Windsor Floor Covering located at 405 Rt. 13 North in East Windsor, NJ.
