There were no reported injuries as firefighters from several agencies quickly extinguished a warehouse fire Wednesday, police said.
According to police, members of the East Windsor Township Police Department responded to a reported structure fire at a warehouse located on Lake Drive Wednesday.
Upon arrival, officers observed smoke coming from the building, which sustained fire damage inside the warehouse, triggering the sprinkler system, which contained the flames, police said.
The fire appears to have originated on or near a work bench area within the warehouse.
The sprinkler system and responding fire personnel were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
Police said that a box truck owned by the company, Coastal Insulation, was destroyed in the fire.
The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the East Windsor Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, but is being considered non-suspicious, police said.
Police said the business is currently open and operating on a backup generator pending repairs.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire or the subsequent response.
Units from East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #1, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #2, Robbinsville Fire Company, Hightstown Fire Company, Groveville Fire Company, West Windsor Fire Company, Mercerville Fire Company, Millstone Fire Company, Hamilton Fire Company, East Windsor Rescue Squad District 2 and Hightstown Rescue Squad responded, police said.
