An argument between two women outside of the QuickChek convenience store at the Brunswick Circle resulted in one of the women being charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence and biting a police officer, at 9:44 p.m. April 3, according to police Lt. Joseph Amodio.
Kisha Henderson, 28, of Trenton, was charged with those offenses, plus disorderly conduct, obstruction of the administration of law and justice, reckless driving, failure to have an insurance card, having an open container of alcohol in a car, and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test, Lt. Amodio said.
Police responded to a call about the disturbance and found two women arguing, Lt. Amodio said. A police officer smelled alcohol on Ms. Henderson’s breath, who also appeared to be intoxicated. It was determined that she had been driving a car.
When she was asked to hand over the car keys, she refused and hid them from police, Lt. Amodio said. She was taken to the Police Department after she was charged with disorderly conduct, and while she was in the booking room, she pulled out the car keys that she had hidden on her person.
She held the keys in her hand and when a police officer asked for the keys, she refused. He grabbed the keys from her hand and she bit him on the hand. The bite did not break the skin on the officer’s hand, Lt. Amodio said.
Ms. Henderson was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on $18,000 bail, with a 10-percent option.
