Three daytime thefts from the back yards of homes were reported by Hillsborough police in the last week of March.
On April 1, a South Branch Road resident said playground and landscaping equipment were taken from a shed in the rear of the home during the afternoon. The value of the items was put at $690.
On March 27 a Marshall Road woman said patio furniture and grill, with a value estimated at $750, were stolen from the backyard during the day.
On March 25, a Pschorn Lane resident reported a central air conditioner unit, valued at about $3,000, had been stolen from the rear yard during the day.
Also, four local men and women were charged with possession of marijuana after it was allegedly found in the vehicles in which they were parked on Cole Court.
Guy Hansen, 22; Valerie Kruss, 20, and Andrew Roessner, 20, all of Hillsborough, and Gilbert Quinton, 23, of Belle Mead were charged.
Ms. Kruss and Mr. Roessner were also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mr. Hanson was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three were booked and released with a date to come to municipal court.
