A residence on Dubois Round was badly damaged in an Easter Sunday night fire, police reported.
Police and fire personnel responded to a 911 call at 8:43 p.m. Sunday to the home of Timothy Lockburner, 43, and Kris Lockburner, 41. The initial report was there was smoke in the house but firefighters arriving on the scene determined it was a working house fire.
Police said that the homeowners and two children were not inside the home and no injuries were reported.
Fire units quickly extinguished the fire but police reported there was moderate damage to the basement and first floor and smoke damage to the second floor.
Hillsborough police and the Fire Safety Bureau are conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire. Police said the cause of the fire did not appear to be suspicious.
No injuries were reported by responding agencies, including local police, the Fire Safety Bureau, Hillsborough Fire Department units 26, 37, 38 and 48, Millstone Fire Department 28, Manville Fire Department 42, Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Somerville Rescue Squad and the Hillsborough Office of Emergency Management.
