EAST WINDSOR — Mayor Janice S. Mironov proclaimed National Library Week April 13 to 19, with the theme “Lives Change @ Your Library,” and recognized the important role of the two East Windsor branches of the Mercer County Library system, noting “our libraries are key centers for the community.”
The Mayoral Proclamation issued by Mayor Mironov states, “our public libraries safeguard the right of Americans to free access to read, learn and connect to information on all subjects and representing all points of view, serving as a cornerstone of our democracy.”
The Proclamation continues, “Librarians provide the essential guidance and support needed by children, teenagers and adults alike in their search for knowledge and information, as well as their pursuit of a vocational and leisure interests.”
Mayor Janice Mironov presented the Proclamation, along with Barnes and Noble gift certificates donated by Shiseido America, to representatives of the two East Windsor branches of the Mercer County Library system, the Hickory Corner branch and the Twin Rivers branch.
The local libraries were represented by Phyllis Anker, East Windsor Township Mercer County.
