Holocaust memorial service set for April 27

Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI), together with the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights and Genocide Education (CHHANGE) at Brookdale Community College, will host a memorial service to remember victims of the Holocaust at noon on Sunday, April 27, at CBI’s sanctuary at 171 Ridge Road, Rumson.

The service will be led by Rabbi Jeff Sultar and Cantor Dov Goldberg and feature guest speaker Dale Daniels, executive director of CHHANGE. Memorial tributes will be made to former CBI congregants and holocaust survivors, Erica Rosenthal and Charlie Siers. Family members will share stories of the honorees’ courage and resistance during World War II, and filmed excerpts will show Rosenthal and Siers recounting their wartime experiences.

The service is free and open to the public. For more information, contact CBI Director Emilie Kovit-Meyer at 732-842-1800, ext. 203 or www.cbirumson.org.
