Kindergarten Roundup is approaching for the Bordentown School District. Resident who have children turning 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2014 are asked to www.bordentown.k12.nj.us to download registration information. Families living in Bordentown City and Holloway Meadows will register at Clara Barton School. Families residing in Bordentown Township or Fieldsboro will register at Peter Muschal School. Please complete all registration paperwork as soon as possible. The Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085, 11 Amboy Road, will hold a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain date is Sat., May 3. The Women’s Society of the First Baptist Church, corner of Prince and Church streets, Bordentown, is having its annual Pennsylvania Dutch family style smorgasbord supper from 3to 6:30 p.m. Place $15.50 take-out orders by April 20. The Bordentown Township and Chesterfield Township Environmental Commissions will be holding a Green Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Joe Lawrence Park in conjunction with the Townships Health and Wellness Expo. There will be exhibits, demonstrations, crafts, food vendors and more. We will also be accepting donations for the Burlington County Animal Shelter.

Play and Learn Nursery School located at 420 Farnsworth Ave. in Bordentown will be holding an Open House from 1to 3 p.m. Play and Learn Nursery School has been providing an academic and social program for three and four year old children for over 35 years. Liberty Lake Foundation Community Day, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., 1195 Florence-Columbus Road, Bordentown. Parking and admission is free, while some activities will ask for donations to the Liberty Lake Foundation. A non-profit organization, the foundation’s mission is to provide camperships, as well as opportunities for children to grow and learn within a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment. There will also be a Red Cross Blood Drive (interested parties can sign up online). Activities will include a charity Wiffle ball tournament; Chinese auction; fitness classes featuring Zumba; camp activities such as boating, laser tag and archery tag, mini-golf, rock wall; live music; NJ Renaissance Faire characters; Boot Camp obstacle course; and other family activities including the pirate ship playground, gaga, basketball, and volleyball. Beginning Sat., May 10
The Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community will be exhibiting artwork created by the A-Team of the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen in Trenton, an artists co-op of regular patrons of TASK, formed in 1991 to support the creation of art and development of both artistic talents and entrepreneurial skills. The artists’ most recent showing was at the Gourgard Gallery in Cranbury, NJ, where patrons bought numerous pieces. This year was the third annual showing there. DDUUC will host the show from Saturday, May 10, through Sunday, June 25. The opening reception will be noon until 3:00 p.m. at 39 Park St. in Bordentown. Meet the artists, enjoy some fantastic art, food, and the music of TASK’s own The Funkadelics. Show hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on weekends, or by appointment. The Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community will host a dialogue with area faith leaders regarding their perspectives on the subject of about “How does faith inform our morality” at an Interfaith Dialog on Wednesday May 14 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the DDUUC church at 39 Park St. in Bordentown. The panel will include Rev. Addae Ama Kraba (Unitarian Universalist), Professor Manzoor Hassain (Islam), Rev. Robin Lostetter (Presbyterian) and Rev. Elizabeth Vaneekoven (Methodist), and possibly others unconfirmed at press time. The dialogs, held once or twice a year, are hosted by DDUUC to bring together religious leaders of different faiths and the Bordentown community to discuss universal questions of interest to all religious traditions. The free event is open to the public. A community question-and-answer period will follow the panel discussion. Doors open at 5 p.m. There is a progressive jackpot, and food is available for purchase. The lodge has sandwich night every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The price is $6 per person.Lodge 2085 hosts a breakfast the third Sunday of every month from 8 to 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Special Children’s Committee.
