COUNTY: Road projects announced

HAMILTON — Mercer County has announced two upcoming road projects in the township.
According to the township website, a project at the intersection of Quakerbridge and Youngs Road to create an additional lane for turns on the latter road was scheduled to begin Monday.
The west side portion of Quakerbridge Road will also be widened with road improvements extending approximately 500 feet south and 800 feet north, respectively, of the intersection.
The project is estimated to take 45 days and county officials will establish a detour during the final paving portion of the roadwork.
In addition, a county milling and resurfacing project to begin on Whitehead Road was also expected to begin earlier this week.
According to officials, the milling and resurfacing will extend on Whitehead Road from East State Street to the Railroad Bridge Deck.
Officials anticipate the work would only take three days, weather permitting, and that work would take place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. between Wednesday and Friday.
Construction will be completed in two stages, officials said. The first stage will include milling from East State Street to the Railroad Bridge Deck, and the second will include the resurfacing of the recently milled area.
Mercer County Staff will post signs prior to the start date advising upcoming roadwork.
