The Stockton Borough Council, which was scheduled to introduce a proposed municipal budget for 2014 Tuesday night, has hired a new chief financial officer (CFO) for the town.
She is lifelong Stockton resident Diane McDaniel.
Under a resolution passed by the Council April 14, Ms. McDaniel was appointed deputy CFO April 15.
That appointment runs through May 31. On June 1, Ms. McDaniel will become CFO.
The appointment that begins June 1 is for a four-year team as CFO, a part-time position. Ms. McDaniel’s annual salary will be $15,000. Her hire comes at the recommendation of the council’s Personnel Committee.
Born and raised in Stockton, Ms. McDaniel has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rider University, from which she graduated cum laude in 1988.
For the past 11 years, she has held a number of positions in municipal government in Hunterdon County.
She has been an assistant CFO in Alexandria and has served as secretary of that township’s Planning and Zoning boards. She also has been a zoning officer and construction official in Delaware Township.
