SOUTH BRUNSWICK: T.J. Taylor named most improved player

Rutgers Freshman defensive linebacker T.J. Taylor, a graduate of South Brunswick High School, who red-shirted this year for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football squad has won the Spring 2014 Douglas A. Smith Most Improved Defensive Player award.
   According to the Spring 2014 press release, Taylor has shown “plenty of promise red-shirting last year.”
   The 6’3” 190-pound defensive lineman was an All-State performer for the Division Champion South Brunswick Vikings during his senior year campaign.
   Taylor joins Mohamed Sanu (Cincinnati Bengals) and Jevon Tyree as players who have starred for the Vikings and have gone on to Rutgers to lead the Scarlet Knights.
   According to several recent published reports, this year’s star Dontae Strickland, will also be heading for the Rutgers squad as the school enters competition in the Big 10 Conference.
