Thanks for tremendous outpouring of support

To the editor:
Our daughter Maya, who passed away at the age of 10, was deeply loved. We, and many others involved in her life, have been profoundly changed by this little girl, who experienced so much pain and faced so many challenges in her short time here, yet lived with enthusiasm and joy, having a powerful spirit that was tenacious and curious, and a big heart from which so much empathy and love flowed. She is sorely missed.
Words are inadequate to express the appreciation we have for the tremendous outpouring of support, both practical and personal, from so many people of our community.
We thank the emergency response team of Pennington and Hopewell, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the Pennington Presbyterian Church, our caring family, friends, and neighbors, the staff and families at RockBrook School, all of Maya’s caregivers, therapists and physicians, The Arc and many other charitable and sports organizations such as Special Olympics, NLSA, and the YMCA in which Maya was involved.
We also thank Maya’s former teachers and staff from the Katzenbach School for the Deaf and Bear Tavern school, our son Vann’s teachers from Timberlane Middle school and The French American School of Princeton and friends from the ice hockey community, The Hopewell Valley school administration, the N.J. Department of Human Services, the Division of Developmental Disabilities, the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, the Gift of Life organ donor Program, The Emergency Center of Capital Health, The Master Gardeners of Mercer County, business associates, and acquaintances.
We were also touched by the kindness of strangers who reached out to us in our loss. Our deepest thanks and gratitude to all.
