LAMBERTVILLE: Hunterdon man found dead in canal

Deceased has been identified as Kenneth J. Muzychko

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, and Lambertville City Police Director Bruce Cocuzza are announcing that a death investigation is underway in Lambertville.

According to Prosecutor Kearns, “At 2:33 p.m. May 2, police and emergency crews were dispatched to the Lambertville Canal near the intersection of Clinton and Delavan Streets for a report of a person floating face down in the canal. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Lambertville City Police Department are investigating. There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances at this time. The Hunterdon County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death pending an autopsy and toxicological testing.”

 The prosecutor added, “The deceased has been identified as Kenneth J. Muzychko, 32, of Flemington. He had recently been staying in Lambertville and was well known locally. Mr. Muzychko was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.”
