A proposed Stockton budget for 2014 that, if adopted as expected, would bring a municipal tax-rate increase of 1.6 cents per $100 of assessed property value was introduced by the Borough Council on April 22, Borough Clerk Michele Hovan said.
The spending plan is scheduled for a public hearing and adoption vote at borough hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20.
Under state law, the public hearing must precede the adoption vote.
The introduced budget totals $662,246, up $13,304 from 2013.
Ms. Hovan said that, for a borough house assessed at $185,000, a proposed budget OK would bring an annual municipal tax increase of $30 over last year. Property tax bills include school and county taxes, as well as municipal taxes.
There are no major purchases called for in the proposed budget, nor are there any significant changes in services provided by the borough, Ms. Hovan added.
