CentraState Healthcare Foundation, Freehold Township, is seeking contestants to participate in its 53rd Celebration Ball Queen Contest. The contest is open to young adults at least 15 years of age.
Last year’s contestants collectively raised more than $38,000 for the Star and Barry Tobias Women’s Health Center at CentraState, according to a press release. The money was raised in various ways, including community Zumba classes, car washes and letter solicitations.
This year, the contestants will be challenged to raise money for lung cancer programs at CentraState Medical Center. Each dollar raised will count as one vote. The contestant with the most “votes” will be crowned at the foundation’s annual celebration ball on Feb. 7, 2015. Prizes are awarded to the top contestants, including scholarships. A total of $3,500 in scholarships will be distributed. For more information about becoming a contestant or a sponsor, call 732-294-7029.
