Timberlane Middle School will have a new vice principal July 1.
She is Nicole Gianfredi, who has been working in the Hopewell Valley school district for 12 years.
Ms. Gianfredi was appointed to the vice principal position at the April 28 school board meeting.
“Ms. Gianfredi is a dynamic instructional leader who will bring enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise to the middle school,” Timberlane principal Tony Suozzo said.
“She will be an outstanding addition to the Timberlane administrative team” he added.
Ms. Gianfredi began her career in Hopewell Valley in 2002 as an elementary special education teacher. In 2005, she became the PreK-5 supervisor of Special Education. Her position was expanded to K-12 in 2011.
Her promotion follows those of Mr. Suozzo and Rosetta Treece.
At its March 17 meeting, the Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education approved Mr. Suozzo’s appointment, effective July 1, as the district’s director of human resources and special projects.
“In that role, he will supervise hiring in the district and be in charge of negotiations with the employee unions,” said school district spokeswoman Alicia Waltman.
Ms. Treece, currently vice principal at Timberlane, will become principal of Timberlane on July 1, when Ms. Gianfredi will fill the vice principal vacancy created by Ms. Treece’s promotion. Student disciplinary matters are among the chief duties of a vice principal.
“These appointments place several proven, key staff members in vital positions,” said Superintendent Thomas Smith. “They will work to strengthen and continue to improve our already very strong school district.”
