The Charitique Foundation, an organization that focuses on helping dreams come true for children and their families who have been affected by childhood cancer, held its first of its many dinner parties at the Laurita Winery, New Egypt, April 4.
Laura Reina, president of the Charitique Foundation, founded the organization after her granddaughter Angelina was diagnosed with leukemia.
After receiving many generous donations and hosting several benefits to raise money for Angelina, Reina decided to help other families by beginning her own charity, according to a press release.
The winery event featured remarks from Laura Reina, her husband; Jackson Mayor Michael Reina; and Dawn Egan, vice president of the foundation.
There were more than 75 attendees and 11 sponsors at the party. The music was supplied by “DJ for a Cure.”
According to the press release, the organization works to provide children fighting cancer and their families with assistance in every way possible, including financial, mental and emotional support.
