Jackson student-athlete Joseph DeZart was named a finalist to the Sueño MLS 2014, a search for the best undiscovered soccer talent in the country.
Now in its eighth year, Sueño MLS, presented by Allstate, is hosted by three Major League Soccer (MLS) teams — the Colorado Rapids, LA Galaxy, and for the first time in its history, the New York Red Bulls.
The Red Bulls’ tryouts took place on May 3-4, and six players were chosen from the tryout, which began with 396 entrees on May 10.
Rutgers University Football will conduct several camps this summer for children and women.
Players entering grades 1-12 will participate and improve their skills in a variety of ways, led by Rutgers coaches, as well as college and high coaches from around the country. Participants are divided into groups and will learn position skills and practice drills.
On June 27, women ages 18 and older can join Rutgers Football for a fun and educational evening that includes teaching regarding football fundamentals and player safety.
