The township of East Brunswick and the Fine Arts Festival Committee will sponsor the 12th annual Fine Arts Festival, an outdoor juried show and sale of fine arts and handmade crafts, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 7 around the pond at the East Brunswick municipal complex, Jean Walling Civic Center, Ryders Lane. Rain date is June 8.
The daylong family event will provide artists with a venue to exhibit their work, demonstrate their talents and offer original art and craft items for sale. This year’s show will feature approximately 75 artists. Glassblowing, stained-glass and scarf-marbleizing demonstrations are scheduled throughout the day.
There will be a display of artwork by the students at Hammarskjold Middle School, East Brunswick. The Community Art Project, organized by Scott Friedman, freelance photographer and social worker, also will be on-site. Friedman involved the Daisy Recreation Program, the East Brunswick Youth Council and the Best Buddies Program in creating colorful mandalas to be glued to a Community Collage by festival visitors.
Coinciding will be the East Brunswick Farmer’s Market, sponsored by the township of East Brunswick, the East Brunswick Environmental Commission and the Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission. The market will take place 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. in the courtyard in front of the municipal building. For more information, call Theresa Lam at 732-492-6454, or email [email protected].
