HOLMDEL — St. John Vianney High School recently presented Hometown Heroes with a check for $500 after a fire destroyed the organization’s building in Toms River.
The money was raised by the school’s Pax Christi Club and theology teacher Pat Smith.
“It’s so important to give back to Hometown Heroes after everything they did for the community after Sandy,” Smith said in the school’s press release. “It’s our turn to help them.”
Hometown Heroes helped over 10,000 people who were affected by superstorm Sandy, according to a press release.
The organization fosters an environment of good will, generosity and encouragement by supporting local communities in times of crisis.
