WEST AMWELL: Township plans to buy equipment

By John Tredrea, Special Writer
The West Amwell Township Committee introduced two proposed ordinances on June 9 that, if adopted as expected next month, would enable the township to buy a tractor, pickup truck and other equipment for use by township work crews.
A public hearing will precede the committee’s adoption vote on each of the measures.
One proposed bond ordinance will, if adopted, appropriate $280,000 for the purchase of a Case International tractor and International truck and other equipment. They would be paid for by a $266,000 bond issuance, with $14,000 in down payments.
Under another proposed ordinance introduced June 9, the township can withdraw $35,000 from its capital improvement fund to buy a 2015 Ford F350 four-wheel-drive pickup truck.
The committee noted that a hazardous waste collection day will be held on Saturday, July 12, at the county complex on Route 12.
