Men charged with stealing golf cart
Two men were charged with theft after reportedly stealing a golf cart from the Inn at the Lambertville Station early Saturday morning.
Sgt. Robert Brown stopped the men on Lambert Lane as they were driving down the street at 4:40 a.m. The men were identified as Marc Chianese, 32, of Pennington, and Laurence Long, 31, of Wellesley, Massachusetts. They were both charged with theft and released with a date to come to court.
In other Lambertville police items, Patrick Russell, 60, of Jamison, Pennsylvania, was arrested Friday for shoplifting as a result of an investigation into stolen wine from a local liquor store.
Patrolman Anthony Memolo identified Mr. Russell as a suspect after reviewing security camera tapes of thefts on two different dates in June. Mr. Russell was arrested on June 27 and was charged with two counts of shoplifting. He was later released with a pending court date.
Three instances of driving under the influence in early-morning hours were reported:
— Stephen Collins, 35, of Skillman, was arrested June 19 after a motor vehicle stop. Sgt. Michael O’Rourke stopped Mr. Collins on Route 518 at 12:45 a.m. after he was reportedly observed speeding. Mr. Collins was allegedly determined to be under the influence of alcohol, arrested and charged with DUI, refusal to submit to breath testing and speeding. He was released with a pending court date.
— Sean Domici, 25, of Flemington was charged on June 23.Patrolman Matthew Bast stopped Mr. Domici on Route 29 at 1:07 a.m. after he allegedly failed to stop for a posted stop sign. Mr. Domici was allegedly determined to be under the influence of alcohol, arrested and charged with DUI, refusal to submit to breath testing and failure to stop. He was released with a date to come to court.
— Matthew Kephart, 21, of Flemington was charged June 27. Sgt. Robert Brown stopped Mr. Kephart on Route 179 at 2:18 a.m. after he allegedly failed to stop for a red light. Mr. Kephart was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, arrested and charged with DUI, failure to observe a traffic signal, careless driving and failure to exhibit his auto registration. He was released with a pending court date.
