Three Trenton youths have been charged with burglary and theft for entering four unlocked cars that were parked on Fountayne Lane June 27, according to police Lt. Joseph Amodio.
A witness called police to report that the boys — two 15-year-olds and an 11-year-old — were attempting to break into her car, which was parked on Fountayne Lane, at around 1:45 p.m., Lt. Amodio said. Her car was locked, however.
A police officer found the boys attempting to leave the development, which is located off Lawrence Station Road, on their bicycles, Lt. Amodio said. As soon as they saw the police officer, they began pulling things out of their pants pockets and dropping them on the ground.
Police determined that the boys had entered three parked cars, and took an Ipod, two GPS units and a cell phone from the vehicles — a Honda minivan, a Mini Cooper and a Hyundai Sante Fe, Lt. Amodio said.
Nothing was taken from a Nissan Altima.
