CRANBURY — Police are seeking a man that allegedly exposed himself to an adult woman as she walked to church Sunday morning.
Chief of Police Rickey Varga said the incident took place in a residential area around 10 a.m. Sunday morning as a female resident walked to church on Evans Drive.
According to police, a man described as an unshaven white male with black hair between the ages of 20-30 with a thin build approached the woman while driving a small, two-door, white pick up truck between Brainerd Drive and Oak Lane.
The man allegedly exposed himself to the victim before fleeing the scene in a northbound direction on South Main Street, police said.
Police said the truck had a dark black bed liner and New Jersey plates.
The incident is similar to one that took place in September.
According to police, the earlier incident took place on a Sunday in September at approximately 10 a.m. on North Main Street and Scott Avenue when an unknown male, operating a "newer model" white pickup truck with "rounded edges," called to two women who were walking about 100 feet away.
The women thought the man needed directions or assistance so they turned and began to approach the vehicle.
While doing so the male subject allegedly exposed himself to the women.
The male then sped away from the scene.
The two adult victims, who are residents in the town, were unable to identify the driver in that case, police said.
Chief Varga said the department is adding extra patrols in the area of the incidents and is "exploring all possibilities" regarding the cases.
He said that the victims in the September case, who were also on their way to church at the time, waited a period of time before they contacted police. The victim Sunday, however, called police immediately.
"Residents need to be vigilant and contact police if they see suspicious activity," Chief Varga said.
If found, the man is facing lewdness and disorderly persons offenses, according to Chief Varga.
Anyone who may have any information or who may have seen the suspect or vehicle are asked to call the Cranbury Township Police non emergency number (609) 395-0031.
