HIGHTSTOWN —Science came to life for a group of kids this weekend.
The Sciencetellers, an interactive science troupe, performed for about 20 kids at the Hightstown Library on Saturday.
For almost a decade, Sciencetellers have been combining storytelling, comedy, and exciting science experiments into a dynamic and highly interactive learning experience.
This presentation was "Dragons & Dreams," where the kids got to assist when it came time to creating "smoke" from the dragon using dry ice, or helping to create other special effects to go along with the story of how two children saved an imaginary kingdom from an evil sorceress.
Scienceteller Alexis Tzap entertained the crowd, throwing bubbles and lighting a horn of fire, which was ethanol poured into a water jug, and lit on fire.
"It was awesome," said six-year-old Joshua Johnson. "The dragon’s head popped."
"I thought it was very educational, the kids seemed to like it, it seems to be fun for the adults also," said Cathy Dye, a resident of Hightstown who brought her two 7-year-old nieces to the event.
