Edison library offers basic computer classes

The Edison Public Library will present basic computer classes specifically designed for seniors, the technically challenged and those just learning how to use computers. The classes, all offered at the Edison Main Library, 340 Plainfield Ave., offer hands-on training and have limited seating.

 Excel for Beginners, 2:30 p.m. July 10, teaches how to execute formulas and use a spreadsheet format that includes charts and pictures.

 Job Searching, 2:30 p.m. July 17, focuses on how and where to search for a job on the Internet. Participants will explore the new Jobs4Jersey website, where one can find a find, explore a career, get job training, receive instruction on interviewing skills and resume writing, and apply for unemployment benefits.

 Resume Writing, 2:30 p.m. July 24, offers information on constructing a professional resume. Those with a resume should bring it along for individual help, if time permits.

 Word for Beginners, 2:30 p.m. July 31, introduces the basic functions of Microsoft Word 2010, a word processing program. Attendees will learn how to create, edit and save a document.
