Tournament is scheduled for July 28 at The Bucks Club, 2600 Old York Road, Jamison, Pennsylvania.
In another indication that the late Jason Fuhr was highly regarded in the Delaware Valley area, the annual Jason Fuhr Charity Golf Tournament has been renamed to the Jason Fuhr "Memorial" Charity Golf Tournament. Mr. Fuhr died unexpectedly last February.
The tournament is scheduled for Monday, July 28, at The Bucks Club at 2600 Old York Road in Jamison, Pennsylvania. Check-in time is 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
"In memory of Mr. Fuhr, a scholarship fund has been added to the distribution of the proceeds from the tournament," said Pat Pittore, of Lambertville, an organizer of the event. "The scholarship will be awarded to a local high school senior who best exemplifies the community spirit that Mr. Fuhr exhibited during his lifetime."
Mr. Pittore added that tournament proceeds will also benefit several public service organizations, including the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance & Rescue Squad, Stockton First Aid Squad, Amwell Valley-Ringoes Rescue Squad, Palisades Search and Rescue Dog Association, South Hunterdon Municipal Alliance, Hunterdon Hospice the Lambertville-New Hope Kiwanis.
The entry fee is $130 per golfer. The fee covers greens fees, cart, prizes, charity donation and refreshments. Also included are the awards buffet (hot and cold), beer and soda. Golf prizes and door prizes will be awarded during the buffet.
Program sponsorships are available: Golden Eagle $250, Silver Eagle $100 and patron sponsor for any financial donation. Checks for sponsors and participants can be made payable to Jason Fuhr Charity Golf and mailed to Shirley Skillman, PO Box 237, Lambertville, N.J. 08530.
Golfers interested in participating are asked to submit their foursome list and check by Tuesday, July 15. The first 36 foursomes will be accepted.
