A Hillsborough teenage boy was apparently thrown from the bed of a pickup truck when the driver made a turn in the rain Tuesday night about 9:24 p.m.
Hillsborough police are investigating the incident, which took place at the intersection of Carroll Drive and Brusler Place.
Police said another 17-year-old boy was driving with a girl, 16, in the cab, and two boys, both 17, in the bed of the black Nissan pickup. When the truck made the left turn from Carroll Place onto Brusler Place, the one boy fell out of the bed and hit his head.
Police said they responded and found the one boy lying in the roadway with a head injury. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick.
Township police are investigating with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s accident reconstruction team. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Hillsborough police at 908-369-4323, ext. 8.
Along with police and the CART, the Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Robert Wood Johnson Medic Unit also responded.
