New Hope Film Festival judges have selected 161 independent films from 16 countries for its fifth annual festival from July 25 through Aug. 3.
Many of the films are from the U.S. and are world premieres.
The lineup includes 9 art house features, 12 documentaries, five Mid-Atlantic films, 28 short films, 37 student films, one TV pilot, four webisodes and 12 music videos.
Judges also selected 50 screenplays and three teleplays. Scripts are not available for public viewing but are listed in the official program guide. Official selections from all film and script categories will receive trophies at the Aug. 3 awards ceremony; top winners are announced in Variety.
