HAMILTON: Push for job applicants continues

Since launching in April, more than 500 potential Amazon employees have taken advantage of the daily information sessions sponsored by Mercer County at the Mercer County One-Stop Career Center, County Executive Brian M. Hughes reported.
The mega warehouse, slated to open later this month, may have met its initial hiring goal, Hughes added, but the One-Stop Career Center continues to welcome job seekers who believe a position with Amazon might be the right fit and that Amazon is still seeking candidates.
At the information sessions, job seekers receive valuable advice, including direct access to the Amazon application process, ways to polish their resumes, interviewing tips and more.
The information sessions are 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday and on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and walk-ins are welcome and no appointment is needed.
The One-Stop Career Center is at 24 Yard Avenue, Trenton, just off East State Street.
Additionally, the new shuttle that will run from Hamilton Marketplace to the Matrix Business Park in Robbinsville, which is partially funded by Mercer County, is expected to be online beginning next week.
”With this important transportation component in place, we continue to encourage people who rely on public transportation to take advantage of the opportunity to apply for a position at Amazon or any other job in the business park,” Hughes said. “I encourage job seekers to reach out to our One-Stop Career Center to learn more about how Mercer County One-Stop can assist them,” he added.
Applicants can also visit the Mercer County website at www.mercercounty.org to apply for positions at Amazon.
