I t’s not too late to find the perfect summer rental. That’s the message to Jersey Shore vacationers from Peter Zanowic, the broker/manager of Gloria Nilson & Co. Real Estate’s Bayhead office, and also the company’s resident summer vacation rental pro.
With miles of pristine beaches open and ready for summer vacationers, Zanowic says there has never been a better opportunity to find exactly what you need for your Jersey Shore escape this summer.
“In years past, ocean front and further in-land home rentals across most of the Jersey Shore communities would have been long-booked by now,” says Zanowic. “That isn’t the case this year. “
Late season construction after a long winter kept many renters waiting to make decisions, says Zanowic. The result is more availability — and greater affordability — than in years past.
With plenty of options available, renters will need to zero in on what they want. According to Zanowic, with the official start of summer, these available homes will be quickly snapped up. Renters should work with agents who know the shore communities and available homes best to avoid wasted time exploring homes that aren’t a good fit.
“Do you need large common spaces, like living rooms, to accommodate a crowd? Maybe your family needs a gourmet kitchen for big family meals. What about entertainment options, both in the home and nearby?” says Zanowic, “Setting priorities first will move the search along much faster.”
If an oceanfront home is a must, Zanowic says there are still a few gems available but you’ll need rental agents with inside information. However, if beachfront property isn’t critical, he says a number of off-the-beaten path homes — each offering their own charms and advantages — are available between $3,000 and $10,000 per week depending on the home’s size, amenities and proximity to the beaches.
