Temple Emanu-El schedules July events

Temple Emanu-El, 100 James St., Edison, has scheduled the following events for July:

 Shabbat Alive, July 11, a participatory service with music starting at 7 p.m. Those celebrating a birthday or anniversary will be invited to the bima for a special blessing.

 Tot Shabbat, 6 p.m. July 18. The program is age-appropriate for children up to age 6. The event includes a Jewish themed craft session.

 Shabbat Under the Stars, July 25. Participants should bring a Shabbat dinner for their own family at 6 p.m. The temple will provide drinks, challah and dessert. Services will begin outside at 6 p.m. with music and song. A “berry” special oneg will follow the outdoor service. Bring a berry delicacy to share. All are welcome.

 Temple Emanu-El is offering new members 50 percent off membership fees for two years. The discount includes High Holy Day tickets and many other events and services.

The temple welcomes people of all races, genders, ethnic backgrounds, physical abilities, sexual orientation and marital status.
