LAWRENCE: Police blotter

A hose reel cart, a 50-foot length of pressure washer hose and the wand for it – but not the power washer – were reported stolen from the QuickChek store on the Brunswick Circle between 11 p.m. July 4 and 11 a.m. July 8. The items were valued at $160.
An assortment of perfume bottles, valued at $960, were reported missing from a display at the Victoria’s Secret store on July 8. They were taken between 4:39 p.m. and 4:42 p.m. by a black female and a black male.
More perfume bottles and lotion, valued at $1,444, were reported missing from the same Victoria’s Secret store July 9. The items were taken between 3:59 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. by two black males who were observed in the store, picking up the items and putting them inside a bag.
A burglar took $40 in cash plus a Nintendo game from a residence on Johnson Avenue between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. July 10. There were no signs of forced entry.
A Sears lawnmower and a weed whacker, worth a combined $650, were removed from an unlocked shed behind a Brunswick Pike residence between 4 p.m. July 8 and 8 a.m. July 9. Also taken were two blue Lawrence Township-issued trash containers.
An unsuccessful attempt was made to enter a Lewisville Road residence, sometime between July 2 and 5:19 p.m. July 10. The attempted break-in was discovered by a friend who was checking on the house and who discovered some damage to the door frame.
A Leister brand heat welder that belongs to an Ohio-based roofing contractor was stolen from the roof of the Lawrence Shopping Center on Brunswick Pike between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. July 11. The heat welder is valued at $5,000.
Gary Augustine, 45, of Trenton, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana after he was found sitting in a car at the Sleep-E-Hollow Motel on Brunswick Pike at 1:24 a.m. July 12. He also had outstanding warrants and was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
Amy Smith, 45, of Hamilton, who was also in the car, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia for having a crack pipe in her possession.
Song Huang, 29, of Plainsboro Township, was charged with shoplifting a pair of Kate Spade sunglasses, worth $158, from Lord & Taylor at 2:52 p.m. July 12. He had concealed them in his right front pants pocket.
Jackie Oliver, 37, of Trenton, was charged with forgery and theft by deception for purchasing $233 worth of items from the Burlington Coat Factory at the Lawrence Shopping Center and paying for them with five counterfeit $50 bills at 4:23 p.m. July 12.
He handed the bills to a sales clerk. The store manager checked the bills and found they were counterfeit. Mr. Oliver left the store, but police were called and stopped the car in which he was riding on Princeton Pike. He was found to have outstanding warrants.
He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on the outstanding warrants plus $22,500 bail with a 10-percent option.
Stela Pilar, 23, of East Windsor Township, was charged with shoplifting clothing worth $334 from Macy’s at 6:12 p.m. July 12.
Jacklyn Althouse, 20, of Morrisville, Pa., was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia (a hypodermic needle, cotton and rope) at 9:52 p.m. July 12 during a motor vehicle stop on Brunswick Pike when the Chevrolet Suburban that she was driving was found to have been reported stolen from Falls Township, Pa., on July 11.
Deshawn McKinney, 24, of Trenton, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken into custody for outstanding warrants and turned over to the Hamilton Township Police Department.
Fahim Kayed, 19, and Benjamin Hernandez, 19, both of Philadelphia, were charged with possession of fireworks at 1:40 p.m. July 13 after police were sent to investigate a discharge of fireworks or a firearm in the vicinity of the former Party City store on Brunswick Pike.
Leon Redding, 32, of Pennington, was charged with driving under the influence after police were dispatched to investigate a suspicious car on Larkspur Lane at 10:14 p.m. July 13. He was found to be asleep in the car, with the key in the ignition, and an odor of alcohol on his breath.
Shweta Jain, 22, of East Windsor Township, was charged with shoplifting clothing worth $269.46 from Macy’s at 6:20 p.m. July 13.
