The Crosswicks Library Summer Story Hour will be held today, 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 24, at the Crosswicks Library on Main Street in Crosswicks. The event will feature a guest reader, craft, and snack. Stories will be geared towards pre-k through second grade; however all are welcome to attend. Guest readers include the Chesterfield Township Police, Union Fire Company firefighters, Hlubik’s Farm, Kids Music Round, local artist Ruth Palmer, local musician John McMenamin, and much more. The Chesterfield Township Historical Society Archaeology Dig will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 26. Join professional archaeologists from Hunter Research in Trenton for a full day of exploring at least two sites in Crosswicks for historical archaeological artifacts. This event is open to anyone (from fourth graders to adults). The cost is $20 per person or $15 per person for members of the same family. The Chesterfield Township Elementary School Board of Education special meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 29 at the Chesterfield Township Elementary School media center for the board to discuss board goals for the new school year. The "Crosswicks Remembered: A time for friends from the forties and beyond to gather together" gala reunion will take place Oct. 3-Oct. 5. Friday evening will feature registration and hors d’oeuvers and movies at the Crosswicks Community House. Saturday will feature an antique car show, concerts on the green and food vendors. Saturday evening will feature a roast beef dinner at Crosswicks Methodist Church, Canteen (dance) at the Crosswicks Community House and a dance for the younger crowd at the Crosswicks Firehouse. Sunday morning will feature a pancake breakfast at the Crosswicks Firehouse and Farwells and New Memories. The Chesterfield Township Historical Society is planning a Chesterfield Heritage Day full of traditional crafts demonstrators, talks about local history, antique farm equipment displays, traditional local food and much more.
