The Roebling Museum will host its fifth annual car show July 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Along with a wide array of cars, trucks and street rods, this year’s show includes antique fire trucks and safety vehicles and a free Home Depot kids workshop. Families will also have the chance to see and learn about the latest in fire fighting equipment and safety from the Florence Township Fire and Police Departments and the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. Included in the $5 admission to the show is access to the Roebling Museum. The rain date for the event is July 27. For more information, call the museum at 609-499-7200 or visit www.roeblingmusuem.org.
In 1995, the Roebling Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 began a very successful community golf outing. In 2006, the Florence Township Fire Company No. 1 and Florence Township Police Officers Association (FOP Lodge 210) combined to continue the tradition. Each year over 150 people support and enjoy the tournament.
Through the generosity of golfers and sponsors, they were able to establish the Richard Yurcisin Florence Township Emergency Services Award. This $500 award is given each year to two graduates of Florence Township Memorial High School who will continue their education in some type of community service profession.
This year, the golf outing is scheduled for Aug. 16 at Hanover Golf Club with a new starting time of noon.
A $50 donation for a small custom made sign or golfing in the tournament will greatly assist them to continue the scholarship program.
For more information, call Stephen "Fuzzy" Fuzekas at 609-209-6873.
The Florence Township Library is hosting its first annual "Summer Scavenger Hunt" for kids of all ages. Clues will be handed out weekly and prizes will be awarded. Sign up at the circulation desk. The program runs through Aug. 14.
