July 11, the Hillsborough Republican Election Committee held its annual golf outing at Royce Brook Golf Club in Hillsborough.
More than 100 golfers came out to support the Hillsborough Republicans and the reelection campaign of Mayor Doug Tomson and Committeewoman Gloria McCauley.
This year’s event was the most successful in the HREC history with record number of attendees and sponsors, organizers said.
"This event represents the unofficial kickoff of our re-election campaign," Mayor Tomson said, "That’s why it was great to see so many township residents and sponsors at the event pledging their support. Their participation reaffirms that our township is headed in the right direction."
Golfers and others had dinner following the day of golf at Royce Brook Country Club.
"We are so happy to hold events like this here in Hillsborough," Committeewoman McCauley said. "Getting together with fellow township residents and supporting our local businesses, like Royce Brook, is a cornerstone of our governing philosophy."
Those attending the dinner also heard from county freeholders and Assembly members Jack Ciattarelli and Donna Simon.
"On behalf of the Hillsborough Republicans, I want to thank all of the members of the Hillsborough Community who came out and made this local event a success," said Steven Sireci, chairman of the Hillsborough Republicans. ‘To see so many volunteers come out for the Republican Party here in Hillsborough says great things about our political organization and the leadership our elected officials provide."
