Jason Rutherford, 30, of Robbinsville was charged with drunken driving after being stopped and arrested shortly after midnight on Monday, police reported. Mr. Rutherford was stopped by Patrolman Robert Morgano on Saxony Lane after responding to a 911 call about a possible intoxicated driver in the area of Route 526. Police said Mr. Rutherford failed several field sobriety tests. He was also charged with reckless and careless driving. He was processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.
Three ladders and other equipment was stolen from a construction site on Opal Drive, police said. The victim told police that someone entered the site between July 11 and 14. The value of the stolen items was $2,000. Police said there are no suspects at this time.
A 28-year-old Monmouth Junction man faces drunken driving and a number of additional charges after police stopped his car on Route 130 about 4 a.m. on July 13. Police said that the vehicle driven by Vance Williams nearly struck a patrol car which was pulled to the side of the road for a motor vehicle stop. Mr. Williams was pulled over near Robbinsville Self Storage on Route 130. Police said he failed several field sobriety tests. In addition to DWI, Mr. Williams was charged with refusal to submit to a breath test, being an unlicensed driver, being a suspended driver, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and failure to safely change lanes for an emergency vehicle. Mr. Williams was processed and released pending a court appearance.
A driver from East Hanover was charged with possession of heroin after his vehicle was stopped on Route 130 at 8:40 p.m. July 13. Jaclyn Franciosa, 22, was stopped near the Robbinsville police headquarters. She was also charged with unclear license plates, obstructed view, being a suspended driver, failure to surrender her license and having CDS in a motor vehicle. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.
Two Robbinsville teenagers were charged with possession of marijuana at 8:51 a.m. on July 11, police reported. Police stopped a vehicle on Washington Boulevard for an expired inspection sticker. Samantha Cruz was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Evan Pagani was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to inspect, possession of CDS in a vehicle and failure to maintain lamps. They were released pending a court appearance.
Landscaping equipment valued at $7.600 was taken from a property in the 1100 block of Route 130 sometime between July 3 and 7. The victim told police five weed wackers, six leaf blowers, a chain saw and other equipment was taken. The Robbinsville Criminal Investigation Unit is continuing the investigation.
