Event set Oct. 6
Committee members are gearing up for the West Amwell Golf Day, set for Monday, Oct. 6, at Copper Hill Country Club.
West Amwell Golf Day is an annual fundraising event founded in 2006 by a group of parents to support educational programs at both West Amwell Elementary School and South Hunterdon Regional High School. Since its inception, the event has achieved continued growth and success through sponsorships from corporations, local businesses and the private sector.
If interested in sponsoring this outing, all levels of sponsorships are available and can be used as tax-deductible donations. Any local business or organization interested in supporting WAGD should contact Bobby Kauth at [email protected].
Funds raised from the outing have enabled our local schools to fund technology and general curriculum programs including iPads for classroom instruction, SMARTboards, high-end projectors, a new school playground, Robotics Science Program, electronic keyboards for the high school music class, eBooks for social studies and science (over 300 titles) and audio and technical equipment.
IN PARTICULAR, the funds from the 2013 outing helped fund the following items:
— At West Amwell Elementary School the funds were used toward a Media Center for the new library renovation that is scheduled for completion this summer. West Amwell students will come back to school in September with a new modern library equipped with the latest media and technology devices.
— At South Hunterdon Regional High School, a new Cardio Center was developed in the Middle School Commons Area. Both middle school and high school students have access to use the brand new equipment to incorporate into their athletic training routine or to create their own exercise regimen encouraging good health habits.
