HAMILTON: Steinert students take tour of State House

Assemblyman Dan Benson recently took Steinert High School Government and Law-Related Experiences (GALRE) students on a tour of the New Jersey State House.
The assemblyman has made hosting the tour an annual event for local students interested in New Jersey government and politics. He answered questions and gave students from the GALRE class a behind-the-scenes tour of New Jersey’s Capitol building that included a trip to the Assembly voting chambers.”As a student at Hamilton West I participated in GALRE,” Assemblyman Benson said. “The experiences and knowledge I gained from GALRE have stayed with me to this day, which is why I continue to enjoy speaking to the high school students throughout our legislative district.”
As a legislator, he said, he spends a lot of hours at the State House.
”But I definitely learned a few new facts on today’s tour and I encourage all of our areas schools to take advantage of having the State Capitol nearby and sign-up for a State House tour for their students in the coming school year,” the assemblyman said.
Anyone interested in scheduling a tour of the New Jersey State House or to learn more about the legislative process in New Jersey, should contact Assemblyman Benson’s office at 609-631-0198.
