HILLSBOROUGH: Three administrators hired by schools

Board of Education members on July 22 approved the administrative appointments of three individuals with ties to Hillsborough Township Public Schools.
Peggy Valenti was named the district supervisor of visual and performing arts/family and consumer science, Michael Davis as the district’s assistant athletic director, and Jennifer Battista as the new vice principal at Auten Road Intermediate School.
Ms. Valenti will start Aug. 25. She served the district in this role from 2007-2010. She has also held the position of artist curriculum program director at the Metropolitan Opera Guild in Lincoln Center and most recently was the visual and performing arts supervisor for Clifton Public Schools from 2010-2013. Ms. Valenti has a bachelor degree’s in music education from Westminster Choir College and a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from Rider University.
Mr. Davis will begin on Sept. 1. He has been a health and physical education teacher at Auten Road Intermediate School since 2005. He earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Kean University and a master’s degree in education from Marygrove College.
Ms. Battista will take on the role of vice principal at the intermediate school, has been the writing content specialist and READ 180 teacher at Hillsborough Middle School since 2007. From 2003-2007, she was the Middle School grade eight literacy teacher. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from William Paterson University and a master’s in educational administration from the University of Scranton.
"We are thrilled that we were able to hire three highly qualified individuals who have a history with our school district," said Dr. Jorden Schiff, schools superintendent. "All three know the district, are familiar with our staff and students, and will hit the ground running."
