CRANBURY — Dey Road was closed for an hour and 15 minutes Monday, after a 2014 Mack Cab truck hauling a 2004 trailer crashed near 210 Dey Road, police said.
According to Administrative Commander Lt. Franklin Dillane, the truck is registered to a company in Jamaica, New York and was driven by 34-year-old Francisco Espinal, of Brooklyn.
The name of the company the truck is registered to was not immediately available.
Mr. Espinal was issued summonses for failure to maintain lane and careless driving, Lt. Dillane said.
The Mack Cab was the only vehicle involved in the accident and sustained damage to the passenger side fuel tank, according to Lt. Dillane.
Police said there were no injuries in the accident.
In addition to the Cranbury Fire Department, the Middlesex County Hazardous Materials Unit was dispatched to the scene in the event that the fuel tank ruptured and diesel fuel began to spill into the nearby pond, Lt. Dillane said.
According to Lt. Dillane, the fuel tank did not rupture and the excess fuel was extracted from the tank so the tractor-trailer could be safely towed.
