Events at the library
In 2011, the Printmaking Center of New Jersey developed and launched Combat Paper NJ, a ground-breaking program that uses the art of handmade papermaking to help veterans explore the physical, psychological and emotional effects of war.
At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, veteran James Yee will come to the Hillsborough Library, 379 South Branch Road, to share his emotional journey and show how veterans integrate drawings, photographs and words into their art using silkscreen, pulp spray and other printmaking techniques they are taught. Each piece of Combat Paper art tells a profoundly personal story, and helps to better understand what vets have endured.
