A garage fire spread and destroyed a Heritage Drive home on Saturday.
Allentown’s Hope Fire Company responded to the fire. On arrival, heavy fire was showing on the first floor, second floor and attic. Although crews were able to confine the fire to the areas that were involved on arrival, the home sustained heavy water damage, according to Hope Fire Company.
The Duffy family was not injured during the blaze but they are now displaced, according to information provided by St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, where they are parishioners. The local community has been coming together to assist the affected family by establishing several means of donating items needed. One of these means is a relief fund established through St. John’s, which has established The Duffy Family Relief Fund to accept cash and check contributions.
Checks can be made out to St. John’s Church with the memo “Duffy Family Relief Fund.” Monetary contributions can be sent to Saint John the Baptist Church, c/o Duffy Family Relief Fund, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Road, Allentown, NJ 08501.
