On Aug. 2, at about 12:44 a.m. Patrolman James Klesney was on Route 179 when he stopped a vehicle driven by Craig Williams, 24, of Phillipsburg, for a motor vehicle violation. A computer check showed that Mr. Williams was a wanted person from Pennsylvania. Mr. Williams was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice. Mr. Williams was issued several motor vehicle summonses and was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail awaiting extradition.
Police reported two drug arrests in the area of George Washington Overlook Park.
On July 24 at about 9:17 p.m. Patrolman Jonathan Sellner encountered Justin Canterbury, 18, from Stockton, and Adam Pelley, 18, from Hopewell, in the park after dark. Mr. Canterbury and Mr. Pelley were arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were processed and released with a court date.
While checking the park on July 30 at about 8:59 p.m., Patrolman Joseph Cesare found a vehicle in the parking area in which he said he saw evidence of illegal drug activity.
Soon the occupants of the vehicle, Christian Oliveira, 18, from Doylestown, Pa., and Daniel Doolan, 18, from New Hope, returned to the vehicle. Both were arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released with a date to come to court.
On July 24 at about 5:29 p.m. Patrolman Jonathan Sellner was dispatched to Route 31 on a report of an erratic driver.
The officer stopped the vehicle driven by Kevin Parisi, 20, from Ringoes, on Route 202. The patrolman determined that Mr. Parisi was intoxicated but also complained of an injury. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Mr. Parisi was also issued summonses for other motor vehicle violations.
On July 17 at about 5:57 p.m. Patrolman Edward Skillman stopped a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Friedman, 50, from Bensalem, Pa, for a motor vehicle violation. A computer check showed that Mr. Friedman had several pending warrants, totaling $1,072, from Pennington and Palmyra. Mr. Friedman was released after posting bail.
On July 12 at about 2:30 a.m. Patrolman Edward Skillman was patrolling on Route 29 when he saw a vehicle with a burned-out headlight. He stopped the vehicle on Hancock Street and arrested the driver, Ian Krantz, 33, from Lambertville for driving while intoxicated. Mr. Krantz was also issued summonses for careless driving and failing to maintain lights. Mr. Krantz was released and given a court date.
Patrolman Jonathan Sellner was patrolling in the area of Mill Road at about 1:19 a.m. July 6 when he stopped a vehicle driven by Daniel Frias, 28, of Hillsborough, for a motor vehicle violation. Mr. Frias was charged with driving while intoxicated and was issued motor vehicle summonses, including reckless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt. Mr. Frias was released with a court date.
On July 6 at about 9:37 p.m. Patrolman James Klesney received a report of a vehicle that had been swerving on Route 29, almost striking another vehicle. Patrolman Klesney found the vehicle and its occupants on Allen Street, and ultimately arrested Hegner Marroquin, 37, from Warrington, Pa, for driving while intoxicated.
Mr. Marroquin was also issued summonses for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and being an unlicensed driver. He was released with a court date.
