Winner has not come forward

By Charles W. Kim, Managing Editor
CRANBURY — Someone who purchased a lottery ticket from the Cranbury Bagel Barn & Deli on North Main Street is a big winner, the question is just who that person is.
"No one has claimed the prize or come in yet," Mr. Iannaci said Wednesday afternoon. "Someone from this store hit it.
According to lottery officials, the one Middlesex County ticket won the Jersey Cash 5 $274,911 jackpot for the Friday, Aug. 1 drawing.
The ticket was purchased on Friday for that night’s drawing.
In a press release this week, Executive Director Hedinger said the winning ticket was the only one sold for Friday’s drawing that matched all five numbers drawn.
The winning numbers were: 01, 14, 27, 30, 36.
"We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Cranbury Bagel Barn & Deli," said Mr. Hedinger. "For selling this ticket, the retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000. Overnight, it has become one more ‘lucky location’ for the very fortunate lottery winner."
Mr. Hedinger also noted that 3,853 other players won $108,221 in cash prizes in the Friday drawing.
For correctly picking four numbers, 115 players won cash prizes of $551 each, and for correctly matching three numbers, 3,738 players won $12.00 each.
Mr. Iannaci said that most of his customers either live or work in the community.
"Locals and workers around town (come in)," Mr. Iannaci said. "We get a lot of business from the (Cranbury) school."
He said this is the largest winning ticket his business has sold.
"We’ve had a few $1,000 (scratch off) tickets," he said. "But this is the first major online ticket."
He also said he was pleased winning the $2,000 bonus for his business.
"We hope to sell a lot more winning tickets, " he said.
According to lottery officials, the winner has up to one year to claim their prize.
