Facility closing on Labor Day

MONROE — Although the library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 due to Labor Day, many other events are being planned for September.
All members of the public are invited to the library’s book cafe on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 11:00 a.m. Residents can talk about books they read and enjoyed. Light refreshments will be served. Register at the library’s Welcome Desk.
Learn a new way to cook with "Create it With Theresa: Japanese Vegan Cooking, on Monday Sept. 8 at 6:15 p.m. Residents will learn to prepare miso soup, salad with a carrot ginger dressing and veggie sushi.
Special guest Registered Dietician will be MaryRose Agel. Ms. Agel will will discuss proper nutrition during this hands-on class. Register at the library’s website at www.monroetwplibrary.org.
On Saturday, Sept. 14 the library will hold a discussion on America’s foreign policy with China. According to the library the discussion raises questions about China being a dominant regional power in Asia.
Questions asked will be: What does the rapid rise of this new superpower mean for the region?
Are their points of conflict with the U.S.?

Help the library celebrate 350 years of New Jersey and 65 years of the New Jersey Turnpike showcased through vintage cars, coffee and 50’s music on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 9 a.m.

On Tuesday, Sept. 30 the library will be hosting "The Secrets to Healthy Skin presented by Dr. Brian Keegan.
Dr. Keegan will review important skin care techniques, issues and what to do about changes to the skin.
Dr. Brian Keegan is board certified in dermatology with specialization in skin cancer management, complex medical issues and laser medicine.
