Waves of Support gala set for Sept. 22 in Red Bank

RED BANK — The Navesink Business Group (NBG) has announced that the Waves of Support fundraising gala, “A Taste of Broadway on the Promenade,” will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Molly Pitcher Inn, 88 Riverside Ave., Red Bank.

The event will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, entertainment and a five-course dinner featuring fine selections from Monmouth County’s culinary landscape.

Headlining the evening’s entertainment will be a performance by The Broadway Dolls, an award-winning New York City concert experience.

“‘A Taste of Broadway on the Promenade’ will be the grand finale of Waves of Support,” NBG founder Robert Lowe said in a press release. “Part of the evening will be dedicated to honoring several organizations and individuals who have made significant efforts in aiding our local communities,” he added.

Honorees will include the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Clean Ocean Action, Hometown Heroes, the Buhler family and George Lyristis of Bistro Boys Management and Red Bank Flavour.

The gala is the third event of NBG’s Waves of Support initiative, a campaign created with Jersey Promise to raise funds for continued Sandy relief for Shore communities and to support tourism at the Jersey Shore.

Ten randomly chosen towns in Monmouth and Ocean counties selected various organizations and businesses as recipients of the proceeds. Those recipients will include the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, Sea Bright Rising, Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry, Churches of the Manasquan Area Ministerium, Habitat for Humanity, Visitation Relief Center, Hometown Heroes and the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Event supporters include Greater Media Radio’s 95.9 WRAT-FM and 100.1 WJRZFM, the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council, Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau, Freehold Network for Success, and the Northern Monmouth, Eastern Monmouth Area, Jersey Shore, Brick and Manasquan chambers of commerce.

Tickets are $195 per person or $1,750 for a table of 10 and can be purchased at www.NavesinkBusinessGroup.com.

The Molly Pitcher Inn is offering a special rate of $159 per night and will donate 25 percent to Waves of Support for each room booked. For details on sponsorship opportunities, contact Ken Scaggs at 732- 383-5865.
